Yellow (Wax) Beans (Produce of Uganda)
Wax beans, which are pale yellow in color, are a type of snap bean with a slightly mild flavor, similar to green beans. They are at the peak of their season from late July to late September.
The good: This food is low in Sodium, and very low in Saturated Fat and Cholesterol. It is also a good source of Protein, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium and Copper, and a very good source of Dietary Fiber, Vitamin C, Folate and Manganese.
